Colorado Public Radio

I worked at Colorado Public Radio (CPR) for six months in a temporary/part-time position, filling in for someone’s parental leave. During that time, I created social media content for the main organizational Colorado Public Radio channels, while also lending support to their news and music station channels. I worked on regular updates to communications content on the CPR website, like assisting in planning and developing content to support CPR’s partnership with Bringing Music to Life and the 2016 Instrument Drive. I also researched and developed feature stories to promote the following: CPR Holiday Programming, Colorado Gives Day, Winter 2016 Pledge Drive, CPR app promotion, staff bios.

Meet Jeremy Petersen, OpenAir’s new morning host

I wrote the article introducing Jeremy Petersen, the new morning host at OpenAir, to CPR’s online community. New on-air talent is an exciting announcement and not one that happens frequently, so it was important to convey the right information about Jeremy’s background and interests. The goal was to get CPR’s listeners inspired to welcome him and tune in.

Inside the CPR Performance Studio

I had the opportunity to write a feature about the CPR Performance Studio, a space that is integral to CPR’s programming but that the public isn’t super familiar with. I worked to paint a picture of the studio itself and also illustrate the significant history of the space and artists who have performed there.

The Bringing Music To Life Instrument Drive Gives the Gift of Music to Denver Students

I wrote this article about CPR’s annual instrument drive, which is one of the ways the organization supported local music education and philanthropic efforts toward the local music community. I got to interview Program Director Caroline McCaskey about the powerful impact this donation drive has on the actual lives of young people.
